Two grass fires destroy acres of property

Saskatoon fire fighters battled two grass fires in the north and south end of the city Saturday.
The first blaze, south of Grasswood Road in Corman Park, started after a small intentional fire spread due to dry conditions, Saskatoon`s fire and protective services said.
When crews arrived to the scene, up to 20 acres of land had already burned. Emergency crews had the stubborn fire under control by 7:45 p.m. No injuries were reported however approximately 200 acres of pasture, grass, bush and stubble was destroyed.
The second fire, located in the 71st Street and PBR Auction area, started around 2 p.m. No injuries were reported.
