Three charged for double murder on Standing Buffalo First Nation
Three people are being charged with first degree murder following a double homicide on the Standing Buffalo First Nation near Fort Qu'Appelle on Thursday.
Twenty-one-year-old Brittany Therese Bear made a brief court appearance in a Regina courtroom Friday morning on charges of first degree murder. Kody Bear, 22, was also charged along with a 17-year-old male who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.All three are from Standing Buffalo First Nation.
Kody Bear and 17-year-old are set to appear in court in Fort Qu'Appelle Monday morning. They turned themselves into RCMP in Fort Qu'Apppelle last night.
They are charged with the murders of 27-year-old Jessica Redman and 28-year-old Sheldon Yuzicappi, who lived on the First Nation.
RCMP first went to a house on Standing Buffalo early Thursday morning responding to a call about people possible being injured. When they arrived, they found Redman and Yuzicappi dead.
This discovery prompted a homicide investigation. As RCMP worked with band members on the investigation Thursday.
Facebook condolences are already pouring in for the family and friends of Redman and Yuzicappi.
