A teenage boy now faces charges after an 80-year-old woman was badly hurt during a robbery in a Yorkton mall parking lot.

It happened on Monday at around 1 p.m. The woman was walking home when the boy approached her and went for her purse.

She resisted, and was pushed to the ground. Her injuries were bad enough that she had to be taken to hospital.

A 15-year-old boy has since been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, theft, and several other charges unrelated to the robbery.

A similar crime happened on Wednesday in Saskatoon. Police are investigating another daytime robbery of a 78-year-old woman. She was walking on the sidewalk on the 2500 Block of Louise Street. She was knocked to the ground and hurt.

This was actually the third robbery of a senior in less than a week.

On Sunday in Saskatoon, a 66-year-old man with a cane was left shaken after he was pushed and robbed of his cigarettes.
Two women, who are 22 and 23, are charged with robbery in that attack.
