For the first time since 1976 the UBC T-Birds defeated the U of S Huskies in a Canada West playoff game, 27-22 at Thunderbird Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Huskies quarterback Trent Peterson threw three interceptions while Jahlani Gilbert-Knorren, who came on relief, fumbled the ball late in the fourth quarter.

T-Birds quarterback Billy Greene hit Jordan Grieve on a 3 yard TD pass in the third quarter to break a 3-3 tie. It's a lead the Thunderbirds wouldn't give up. Later Greene dove in from one yard out to make it a 17-6 football game. David Scott added a fourth quarter major for the Thunderbirds. Shane Dueck and Garrett Burgess scored the Huskies TD's.

The T-Birds now visit the Calgary Dinos in the Hardy Cup on Nov.12 at McMahon Stadium.
