She Has a Name puts face to sexual slavery in Saskatoon
A theatrical production about the reality of sexual slavery will play out on the Saskatoon stage next month.
It's called "She Has a Name."
"In some ways the story is haunting them, that they can't ignore human trafficking anymore, maybe the way they used to," said Stephen Waldschmidt, director of the play.
"A lot of us have heard about it but it's one of those things that's very easy to just avoid because I don't see it in my day to day life."
He said the production's goal is to spur people on to want more change.
Waldschmidt cited statistics that 1 million women and children will be sold into sexual slavery this year, and said She Has a Name puts a face to that number.
