Senator's wife to appear in Saskatoon court Wednesday
The woman accused of
threatening her husband, Manitoba Liberal Senator Rod Zimmer, during an alleged
outburst on a flight from Ottawa to Saskatoon last week will be back in
Saskatoon Provincial Court Wednesday afternoon.
The case was initially
set over to this afternoon after Maygan Sensenberger, 23, briefly appeared in
domestic violence court this morning.
She was not in the courtroom this
afternoon. Defense lawyer Leslie Sullivan appeared on her behalf, confirming
that the charge of endangering the safety of an aircraft had been
dropped.
"The Crown withdrew the charge under Section 77 of the Criminal
Code. Instead the two charges now are causing a disturbance and uttering
threats," said Sullivan.
"We've just adjourned until tomorrow afternoon.
Mr. Miazga (crown prosecutor) and I need to review more disclosure that's still
ongoing."
Sullivan was unwilling to say whether the case will be dealt
with tomorrow.
Sensenberger was arrested Thursday and released from
custody on Monday on conditions that include having no contact with her
husband.
