While a great deal of labour unrest continuing across Saskatchewan it appears SaskTel workers have agreed on a new contract.

SaskTel workers represented by the Communications, Energy and Paperworker's union (CEP) reached an agreement with the Crown telecommunications company Thursday.

The three-year deal includes a 5.5 per cent wage increase that is retroactive to March 21, 2010.

The rest of the contract stays more or less the same, with some allowances made for employees that have retired since then, as well as those on "wage maintenance" due to job evaluation.

There are 3,200 CEP workers employed by SaskTel.
