Saskatoon police report city’s fourth homicide
Saskatoon police are reporting the city’s fourth homicide after a 23-year-old woman died as a result of stab wounds.
Constable Tisha Rae Stonehouse says police and emergency crews responded to a call in the 1800 block of 22nd Street West after receiving calls of a disturbance involving an injured female.
“When they arrived officers located a 23-year-old female suffering what appeared to be stab wounds,” said Stonehouse.
The victim was transported to hospital by emergency crews where she was pronounced dead.
Police have a person of interest in custody and are interviewing potential witnesses.
Shortly after the apartment attack, Saskatoon police got a call about another stabbing on Avenue H and 20th Street.
Stonehouse says police first thought the incidents were connected.
“Initially, we thought there may have been a connection but I don’t believe that is in fact the case,” she said.
