Saskatoon heat wave causes air conditioner shortage
It's bound to be a frustrating
search for the elusive air conditioner in Saskatoon today after this week's heat
wave caused several major hardware stores to run out of stock.
Kaleb,
an employee at the Canadian Tire on Confederation Drive, sold his last portable
air conditioner this morning. He said the Preston Crossing location is facing a
similar shortage.
"We have some coming tomorrow on emergency
shipment, but we still have a lot of fans right now and window air conditioners
we have still in stock."
Reid's Home Hardware on Central Avenue and
both Home Depot locations are sold out of portable and window air conditioners
and employees said it could take weeks before another shipment comes
in.
However, both stores still have some fans on the shelves.
