President and CEO Pierre Gratton of the Mining Association of Canada has sent a clear message that Saskatchewan's mining industry is booming.

"Saskatchewan's growth over the past 10 years has tripled in terms of mineral production," said Gratton.

"The province has become the second most important producer in Canada."

He stressed that China's growing economy in particular means a growing demand for resources like potash, and as a result $50 billion is expected to be invested in Saskatchewan's mining industry over the next 20 years.
