After over a year of delays Regina’s Plains Hotel is finally set to come down on Wednesday, says Greg Black with Bright Star Capital Point.

A back hoe and some construction equipment are now standing on the site.

Crews will start with the two wings on the east side of the building. The section facing the street will be done at night to minimize traffic issues with people watching.

Black says the Hilton Hotel should be open early fall 2013 in time for Grey Cup.

“We know the city will be flooded with visitors from all over Canada,” says Black.

“It’s a great time for us to show off our new products.”

Black says people should be able to live in the condos on the lower levels by the end of 2013.
