The Regina Red Sox took game one of their Eastern Final in Western Major League Baseball action on Thursday night at Currie Field.

The Red Sox needed all nine innings to get by the Moose Jaw Miller Express 6-5 to take a 1-0 series lead in the best of five East Final.

The Miller Express took an early 4-0 lead until the Sox came back off the heels of some errors by Moose Jaw to tie the game at four in the seventh inning. Moose Jaw would re-take the lead in the top half of the eighth but that lasted half an inning as the Sox tied the game again in the bottom half.

In the bottom of the ninth another key Moose Jaw error put the winning run on third and Tony Crudo hit a liner to right to drive in the winning run.

Game Two of the series goes Friday night at Currie Field in Regina with a 7:05 start. Games three and four will go Saturday and Sunday in Moose Jaw with a game five back at Currie Field on Monday if necessary.
