Local improv comedy group kicks off 29th season
The Saskatoon Soaps are kicking off their 29th season tonight, proving that laughter never goes out of fashion.
"It's a very organic experience," said Ryan Josephson of what it's like to be on stage. "The audience knows we're making it up as we go and we're struggling on stage with the suggestions, I think they really appreciate that."
Josephson, who's been with the group for the past 17 years, said what keeps them together is the fun they have on stage.
"It continues to be fun for us. I wouldn't continue to do it if it wasn't fun or I didn't get a rush from being up on stage," he said. "I love making people laugh and I think everyone in the troupe would say the same thing."
Audience involvement is a key factor in what keeps the show fresh, explains Josephson.
The season kicks off at 9:30pm at the Broadway Theatre tonight.
