Buckland fire crews responded to a grass fire on Wahpeton First Nation early this afternoon.

The blaze was the result of a small campfire that suddenly got out of hand and spread into some neighbouring brush and a field.

Luckily, winds carried the fire in the opposite direction of a residance that was close by.

Currenlty firecrews have managed to surround the fire and it is believed to be under control.
