A bail hearing for a Regina woman charged in connection with the death of her three-year-old son has been adjourned until Friday morning.

A quiet, Anna Marie Rose Wilkes, 29, appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday, at which time the defence asked for an adjournment.

A bail report was ordered last week to consider the possibility of releasing Wilkes under the electronic monitoring program.

The Crown is alleging Wilkes failed to get her son medical attention that could have saved his life.

She is also accused of attempting to burn the body inside a stolen van, where the body was found, in an attempt to destroy evidence.

The burned-out van was found on May 3, behind a house on Halifax Street.

Last Friday, Wilkes’ father, Jim Clark, spoke briefly to reporters outside the court house. He said he was shaken, upset and trying to secure a safe environment for his daughter.

He also noted that he’d been informed Wilkes had gone through a two-day psychiatric evaluation.

Her father, along with two other women, sat in the court room Tuesday. All three declined to comment.

Wilkes is scheduled to appear in court Friday at 9:30 a.m. at which time a bail hearing will likely be held.

She will remain in custody until then.
