A large dog was shot after it attacked a police officer in Saskatoon Monday.

The mixed-breed dog was at a home in the 1300 block of 22nd street. Police came to the home during the lunch hour after a call about a landlord-tenant dispute.

The dog was inside the house, but the door was not locked and the dog escaped.

The animal attacked the officer and the officer fired one shot and killed the dog.

That officer has minor injuries.

Police are still on scene at the home.
