Weather watches and warnings continue in Saskatchewan

The Summer of Storms could continue in Saskatchewan tonight.

A combination of moist, unstable air and a trough of low pressure moving across southern Saskatchewan have developed a few severe thunderstorms today. The thunderstorms will continue until later this evening. They carry potential for large hail and damaging winds.

Severe thunderstorm watch for:

Fort Qu'appelle - Indian Head - Lumsden - Pilot Butte

Moosomin - Grenfell - kipling - Wawota

Carlyle - Oxbow - Carnduff - Bienfait - Stoughton

Estevan - Weyburn - Radville - Milestone

Yorkton - Melville - Esterhazy

Kamsack - Canora - Preeceville

Hudson Bay - Porcupine Plain

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorm capable of producing in excess of 50 mm of rain. Areas affected by this line of severe thunderstorms include Kamsack.

At 2:40 p.m., Doppler radar indicated that this line of severe thunderstorms extended from Kamsack to just south of Canora, and was moving toward the south at 10 km/h.

Severe thunderstorm warnings ended for:

R.M. of Sliding Hills including Veregin, Mikado and Hamton.
