Another big donation is making its way from the Prairies to Haiti.

Saskatchewan businessman Frank Flaman is giving $500,000 to the relief effort. Half of it will go to the Salvation Army, the other half to Oxfam.

"You got to go where your heart (is), where you feel you should give," Flaman says. "And instead of looking the other way, just say, hey, let's get involved here a little bit and let's see what we can do."

Flaman has been in business for over 50 years with his group of companies that specializes in fitness equipment and farm implements, among other things.

He formally set up a foundation five years ago that has worked in many developing nations, including Nicaragua and Peru.
