Rider Dad is Off to the Grey Cup
Another Getzlaf boy makes his father proud
The Riders aren't the only ones preparing for the Grey Cup championship this Sunday. Parents of players are preparing in their own ways, including Chris Getzlaf's dad Stephen who will be travelling to Calgary to watch his son play live. He told Newstalk Radio when it comes to being a football dad, he's a little on the quiet side. "I'm a little more laid-back, I just watch the game and take it in. I never get too rowdy or too loud."Getzlaf says although the game will be close, he predicts the Riders will take the trophy. He adds that if he could tell his son anything before the game, it would be to cherish the day and be himself.
