Saskatoon, "Crime Capital of Canada", now I'm starting to believe it. I say, let these people stab the hell out of each other in their own homes. It's the innocent people walking down the street I'm concerned about. Am I the only person that's tired of the liberal justice system, that will have these people back on the streets the next day. Poverty and lack of oppurtunity are not excuses for criminal behavior!

If we ended the drug war, a significant amount of violence in our city would disappear. It creates a legit business for criminals. Decriminalize cannabis, and watch crime plummet. We can squansh the criminals by taking away their source of funds. This, in turn, would decrease use of hard drugs as well. As long as we have prohibition we are going to have fools acting like Al Capone on our streets.

Maybe it's time the Government steps in and starts a "Knife Registry"!!!
seems like this is the weapon of choice lately.

I believe that broken bottles were used, not knives...broken bottle registry? Then maybe a sharpened toothbrush registry? They'll use whatever they can.
Knifing Capital
Bet you a hunting knife that Saskatoon is the stabbing capital of Canada along with all the other dubious honors.
it is becoming comical
"Several stab wounds to the head." and "injuries aren't serious" tells me that the attacker was doesn't know how to use a knife or that the stabbing instrument was a plastic knife from KFC or something.
I believe that there needs
I believe that there needs to be a bigger penalty for those involved in these assaults with a weapon, and also for those who carry a knife.

Love the title of this article--like seriously-unreal. Saskatoon has a major problem.
Title
Have to disagree... I understand that this problem is getting out of hand to a bad-movie degree, but to refer to the criminal stabbings of several individuals as "stab fest" is irresponsible, glib and (perhaps worst of all) cliched. I would roll my eyes at any band calling any concert anything"Fest", since it's overused and meaningless. For a so-called journalist to refer to use that term in this context is pretty disgusting... and proves that not much thought went into the posting.
Unless, of course, there is an actual festival celebrating stabbing... in which case my beef is with the festival and not a lazy reporter.

Really? wow.
I find the title of this article somewhat insulting. No wonder Saskatoon has such a problem with violence... just look at how we view it: No fear, no caution, just a big joke. Its not a real problem, its just a 'fest'. Seriously, if we expect something to change, doesn't it all start with our attitudes toward the problem? If we continuously joke about it (especially the local media) how will this ever change?
