Story Tools

It looks like 2008 will end with some wintry weather.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southern Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon and Regina, warning of some snow and blowing snow. Affected areas are mainly between the Battlefords to the north, and the Trans-Canada Highway to the south.

Dave Carlson with the weather office says the wind will whip around 5 to 10 cm, or 2 to 4 inches of new snow. And he says there could be some watches or warnings for the area expected to be the hardest-hit, ranging from Swift Current to Outlook.

Friday and into Saturday there could be even more snow affecting Regina and areas to the south.
