Saskatoon's Preliminary Capital Budget Expected to get Approved

Council Meets Monday Night
Story Tools

Saskatoon's 2009 preliminary capital budget is expected to get a quick rubber stamp when city council meets Monday night.

The budget is listed early on council's agenda, with the recommendation that it be referred to the budget committee for its meeting December 9th.

Council is also scheduled to make a minor adjustment to a bylaw it passed last month, which increased a levy to pay for improvements to the city's storm water management system.

The bylaw increased an infrastructure upgrade charge to four dollars and 50 cents per month for the next 10 years.

Council will also be discussing the removal of an encroaching basement at the former Barry Hotel, applying for a loan to buy four diesel hybrid buses, and indoor upgrades to various arenas.
