Convervatives Schedule Early Budget, Back Off Proposals
Opposition Still Working on Coalition
The federal government has confirmed Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will bring down a budget earlier than expected, on January 27th.
Flaherty's economic update on Thursday was attacked by the opposition parties, who say it does not contain anything to stimulate the Canadian economy. They hope to vote down the government a week from Monday, in a vote of non-confidence, and govern with a coalition.
The Conservatives have also backed down on two controversial components of the fiscal update -- one that would have ended government funding of the parties, and another that would have taken away the right of civil servants to strike for three years.

Just another example...
This is just another example of that Liberal mentality of entitlement, and why Jack Layton will NEVER rule. Whether it be Gilles Duceppe or the Taliban, Jack is too busy making deals with the devil and to hell with Canada. If this coalition government happens the bloc will hold Canada hostage.
I guess the Liberal & NDP's idea of a stimulus is to spend another $300 million on an election... You GO Girls! Lets get those poor unemployed campaign workers BACK to work!!!
I give this coalition gong show, 3 weeks and then the election will be announced. And if Harper can't get a majority then, I'll have to give up on Canadian voters.
Harper
Harper is showing his true colours. He wants to do away with Democracy in Canada so that he can become a tinpot Dictator. Good for the Oposition parties it is about time that Harper was taken down a peg.

Will the coalition take away the government funding from parties to help pay for this so called stimulus package they feel the country needs, or is the main reason they are setting up the coalition. If that is true then that really shows you the leaders we have. A great leader gets people motivated, Preston Manning will no gov't help and people like myself started a built a party from scratch. Obama motivated people to not only give record amounts of money but also to come out and vote in numbers many people thought would never happen. These are great leaders. Our coalition leaders are b&b- boring and broke.
