"Get rid of Bishop" was a common refrain from fans filing out of Mosaic Stadium Saturday, after the Riders were knocked out of the playoffs by the BC Lions. The team may have been thinking the same thing.

The Leader-Post's Rob Vanstone is reporting that quarterback Michael Bishop has been placed on waivers by the Roughriders, a prelude to his either being traded or released. Vanstone tells News Talk Radio's Drew Remenda Sports Show the information came from a source.

Bishop was heavily criticized for his play during Saturday's game. The offense failed to score a touchdown in a performance marred by seven turnovers. Three of those were Bishop interceptions.

If Bishop departs, that would leave the team with four quarterbacks: Darian Durant, Steven Jyles, Drew Tate, and Dalton Bell.

wow what great news

Wow now that just made my Christmas

Michael Bishop

If they are going to move this fast on getting rid of Bishop...they should equally get rid of the coach,Ken Miller for not only starting him but waiting too long to pull him when it was too late.Every Rider fan in Saskatchewan could have told you he should have been pulled after the first quarter.Strange why they had success throughout the entire year by pulling Quarteback's that never performed to find someone else comes to take up the slack and win the game for us.I thought the Nealon Greene and Danny Barrett days were gone.....I guess not quite yet. You can only stick with a Quarterback for just so long when he does not perform!!Fix the Quarterback suituation once and for all!!The fans deserve it!!

Bishop Released

The Riders acted swiftly on this decision...maybe about 48 hours too late!

I wonder who is happier -

I wonder who is happier - Rider Fans or Bishop? Bishop never really seemed that pleased to be here.

boy doesn't our management

boy doesn't our management and coaching staff look stupid now. 48 hours he was the guy that was supposed to take us to the promised land according to miller, mabye miller should be going along with him.

I Totally disagree. Miller

I Totally disagree. Miller never said that Bishop would take this team to the promise land, he said that Bishop had the best chance at winning the game. Yes I do beleive that Bishop should have been pulled, but then again, red the comments that are on here. If Bishop had been pulled and Durant put in after the first quarter and Jyles put in after that, you would be screaming for the heads of three quarterbacks instead of one!

We got out played, plain and simple. Time to look at next year and start building up this team!

Oh and for all you people saying "BC Sucks" at the end of the game, they beat us so I guess you must think we suck even worse!
