Perhaps It's Only Fitting
Yet Another Rider Suffers Broken Leg in Last Game of Year
The 2008 season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be remembered for the many, many injuries the team had---especially to key players. That being said, maybe its no surprise to hear that another key player suffered a broken leg in Saturdays season-ending loss to the BC Lions. Chris Szarka joining players like DJ Flick, Andy Fantuz, Neal Hughes, Leron Mitchell and Belton Johnson to suffer broken legs during the season.

The football gods are
The football gods are obviously, NOT pleased with something in Riderville.
I don't get it. Why do
I don't get it. Why do people say football gods or hockey gods? There is only one God. Not a god for every sport. I do believe there might have been a curse put on the Riders though by somebody.
Too bad for Szarka , but
Too bad for Szarka , but maybe this will finally give the Riders an opportunity to release him as it is far overdue.
Speaking of benig released. Can anyone say Bishop.....Dominguez.....Miller.
Time to rebuild so we can take another run at the cup.
Why would we want to release
Why would we want to release Szarka, its not his fault that he hasn't seen the ball that much this year, and Szarka has been Injury free for the last few years. Maybe you should be release as a Rider Fan. I say let the organization decide on who to keep and who to release and discuss it then, but now lets leave it be for now and Thank are team for pretty good season. And lets hope that all the players who were injuried this season get healthy and rested up so Rider Nation can kick some but next year.
For now lets sit back relax and watch the East and West Final (which should be pretty good games) and watch the game that brings us together as a nation, The Grey Cup.
Can't agree with you more on
Can't agree with you more on 3 of the 4. Riders need to stick with Ken Miller. Did he make some poor choices this year? Yes he did, but he got the best out of his guys most of the time. Unfortunately, the playoff game was by and far the worst showing the offence has had all season.
If they do for some strange reason release Miller, Richie Hall has got to be named head coach. My worst fear is Toronto hiring him as their head coach this year. Without Richie, this team might not have won more then 3-4 games this year.
thanks for a great season.
yes we are all sad, about what happened on saturday, but they gave it good run and this year was not meant to go the riders way, and i say thanks for a great season, next year you will get your revenge, and i cant wait. Bishop gone. everyone take time out on tuesday Nov 11th. to remember those who gave their lives, in world war 1 1914 to 1918, world war 2 1939 to 1945, Korean war 1950 to 1953, un peacekeeping, the war on terror 2001 to present, thanks to our veterans and remember your poppy.
Are you kidding me rebuild
Are you kidding me rebuild to what???. A 12-6 team and a second place finish with all those injuries and your talking rebuilding,,thats what they did when they got rid of Barret and that way of thinking,,its clear that the guy who said rebuilding is not a rider fan or did he even watch football this year,,now i agree a player or two to go sure you bet,,but thats not rebuilding,,and to ask for coach miller to be gone is like saying we dont like home playoff games or a team with heart and a strong desire to win,,if you want to have 6-12 year next year then yes lets get rid of the coach but for me he stays because i do know a little more than this guy about sports obviously
I agree about Bishop, but
I agree about Bishop, but you forgot Durant and Jiles, maybe we can use Dominguez as trading power to get Jarius Jackson or a QB that can throw the football
BC Injuries
OK...can we talk about just how many players have been injured while playing BC?? Someone should look into that! Before talking about releasing star players.
Wow! How fickle are the rider fans
As dissapointing as it was to see the beloved green come up short, can we at least have a close look and see when the last time a CFL team won back to back championchips. It amazing to here all the band wagon fans jump back off again and start the banter again of all the changes that have to occure. Yes I think there are some dissisions that have to be made, and yes I think we could improve on our pass protection. But Wow, to listen to some of the so-called fans go off on their tirades just makes me wonder how many true fans are really out there. Enjoy the season for what it was, we just came up a little short.
