Ah, so what, he killed a little girl. People die all the time, so get over it. If the little girls parents suffered, and lost out on the chance to share a life with their daughter, well, we in Canada don't care!!?? Need to reform violent criminals, don't you know. Yes, every one needs a second chance, third chance, fourth chance. If you commit a violent crime again and again, or a sex crime time and again, well, maybe if we coddle you and tell you that you hurt another person, and ask you not to do it again, maybe you will stop hurting other people. I can't believe that the parole board would make this decision. Either our laws or guidelines need to be changed or we need to change the members of the parole board. I can't imagine this happening if this brutal murder had happened to one of their loved ones.

I think we need some big changes to our Parole Board.

It seems to me that the rights of the criminals override the rights of the rest of society. When they commit these crimes they give up their rights. In my opinion, and the opinion of the majority of Canadians, when the Supreme Court ruled that criminals were still entitled to all their rights I think there was a big mistake made. Maybe it's time for the government to step in and correct what was done. I'm not sure just what it would take but there certainly has to be something done.

This isn't the only place in the criminal justice system that needs changes but it is one of the most important. Too many criminals are let out on the street to commit more crimes. All they have to do is act sincere and the parole board lets them out. I guess lots of them are good actors as not too many are turned down. A life sentence should mean a life sentence, not ten or fifteen years.

This is completely unacceptable. The pathetic institution known as the National Parole Board cannot be allowed to get away with this. If you murder a little girl and rape countless others, then you never see the light of day again. Clear evidence of how our "Justice System" has again failed. If the Board has no interest in protecting our innocent children, then they have to be forced to do so by the people. Poor Harold thinks the public doesn't want him to re-offend. And the police say that " they apply for public diclosure" i would say that there is no doubt that they should apply for it. After the peter whitmore case the province needs to protect the children even more so now.

As a society we have to decide what we want to do with people like this.

Nobody wants these people near them or their families, and the reason why is that no one is ever convinced, EVER, that these people are at no risk to re-offend.

If we do not believe that these people are cured then why do we let them out?
We let them out, tell everyone in the neighbourhood where they are, and tell them to WATCH OUT! because there's a child killer living in your area.

It ruins the quality of life for the folks who are just trying to raise their families. It creates a climate of fear. It punishes the innocent folks of a neighbourhood who want to feel safe.

Longer jail terms? Dangerous offender status? Something needs to change. People like this don't rehabilitate. If it's a question of needing room in prison , build more.

This is an outrage! Who ever gave the go ahead for this animal to be allowed to run the streets of Regina, or anywhere else for that matter, during the day when children are out at play should be made accountable. I pay taxes like everyone else and therefor, that individuals paycheck. Like anyone with good business sense, I choose not to employ someone that does not do their job on my behalf. So like any employer, I am calling on the people I employ(gov) and have them fire their ass. I am sure that somewhere in the job description there is something that says these people are to be looking out for the public's best interest and safety. This job was not done near satisfaction. It is beyond me why these people on the board still have their jobs. Or is it the people above them that told them to hold a kangaroo court. It sure sounds like a set up to me when porole board members are answering questions for this animal before he can answer them himself. We need to look up, up, up the chain of command, and find out where this outrage began, and eliminate the source.

Like he would only offend at night. Right maybe the parole board should take a good look at the times all his attacks happened. I love the statement that he has put restriction on himself and he feels pressure. Like he did when he pulled his wagon passed the police, or when he was trying to hide a body that he just walked by the police with. Sure that sounds like great restrictions. If we truly want things to change then we have to take action instead of sitting idly by ,hoping that someone else will do it for us. Before the decision by the parole board came out, I figured that our Justice System wouldn't fail us so I never really bothered to be active about it...AND I AM KIMMIE'S BROTHER. I was there and devastated by this whole thing when it happened. I saw the toll that this took on my mother and the rest of our family and neighborhood. But still I did nothing...because I thought that it would take care of itself.. Well was I ever wrong.And now because I did nothing it may be too late to prevent Harold and others like him from doing these terrifyingly horrific things to other helpless children. Our Canadian Justice System is broken, and it has been for quite some time. If we the People do
not step forward and let our voices be heard, in mass, then change will not come and the system
will remain broken allowing a "catch & release" program for violent sexual offenders and others who
would pose a danger to our spouces, our children, our grandchildren, and ourselves to enter our
neighborhoods, and our lives. If we, the People, do nothing...then we can expect nothing to happen
and nothing to change...with only ourselves to blame.

It turns my stomach knowing that every day, myself or my daughter or every other woman, their daughters, sisters, mothers, aunts or cousins could potentially become this discusting waiste of groceries next victim. I must say that our government of the past and most recent have done a bang up job in altering or doing nothing of our laws to stop protecting the criminals. I love waking up every morning to look around my house to make sure it is still secured as I left it the night before and to half to check in on our children before I do any thing else to make sure they are still safe in their beds!! Just when the hell is our government going to do something to protect our Respectful, civalized citizens!!!? is it going to take complete anarchy for this older society running our country to realize what kind of younger generation they are creating by doing everything they are doing.

I listen to my kids and their friend's conversations, over hear conversations of soo many young parents and youth when I'm out and about and it is absolutely terifying that people so commonly have such vendictive, and vengfull ideas to get things done because they say the government can't do it right!!! I Have heard so many things from government promises that punishment for crime is going to get stricter..blah, blah, blah!!! I ask when! When there are more criminals then civilians!!?? Is it going to actually take our society to actually live in side guarded buildings with fences and the criminals on the so called outside to actually have a safe society???

I believe much of this dismay could be the doing of our society taking on this new belief of being more concerned for how society FEELS about issues and actions rather than making sure to keep feelings out of the equation and using their heads to THINK of resolutions for the problems. The government really needs to sit back and think of Just what the hell are they going to do when this next generation turns it's inward rage and sends it outward and takes their concerns out to the streets!!!?? Scary thought becasue I see alot of angry youth walking the streets and hallways of our public school systems!! Our youth today are not fearful of consequences as we were in our time of youth. and it is a scary thought to know their are many of our youth right here in this city that wouldn't think twice to take anothers life, and this piece of human waste is a perfect example of what someone else's life could end up being wasted by.
