Government Could Change Code of Conduct

Hope to learn from NDP fraud case
Story Tools

Even though the seventeen year old NDP caucus fraud is now a shut case, changes could still come from a report in to the matter.

The Conflict of Interest Commissioner found that NDP MLA Glenn Hagel wouldn't have provided wrong information about the fraud if the Saskatchewan Party had filed all it's documents in the Legislature. It also concludes that would have been the fair thing to do. The Party, now forming Government, contends it followed all procedures correctly.

Government House Leader Rod Gantefour is willing to concede those rules may need changing. "Certainly if this legislature and the parties in it want to discuss setting different standards than have been the practice in the past then certainly we'd be very interested."

Gantefour maintains lessons can be learned from these events, both then and now.

Wow..the Sask Party hides evidence

earth shattering news. Who would have thought that a bunch of ex-
Devine workers would think of such a thing? The bottom feeders that make up our MLAs in general are the problem. It used to be an honor to serve the public, now it's just an easy way to make good dollar.
