Gas Prices Remain High In Saskatchewan

Other parts of Canada, oil prices falling

Gas price analyst Roger McKnight called the price at the pump in Saskatchewan "completely unjustified" last week and today it might be getting even more unjustified.

With the price of oil plummeting nearly $40 in two months and Hurricane Gustav missing key oil-producing parts of the coastline, many other parts of Canada have seen the price of gas drop up to five cents a litre.

Gas in Regina remains $1.38.9/L and motorists we spoke to are all but throwing their hands up. "Are we traditionally slower in following trends than the rest of the country anyway? Probably, but I think it's kind of ridiculous," says Regina's Ivan Anderson. "I think the price is too high, but I try to ride my bike a lot and do other things to counteract it. I doubt it will come down though. They do what they want unless people kick up a fuss about it and no one is saying much about it, they just keep paying," adds Wendy.

Before the long weekend EnPro's Roger McKnight said a fair price for us would be $1.29/L and that was before the rest of the country fell.
