Fire Destroys Two Pre Built Homes
Two pre built homes are gone after being destroyed by fire.
The two homes were on a lot belonging to J & H Builders Warehouse at Avenue C North.
Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services Battalion Chief Jim Wood says the fire appears to have started in some hay bales located on the same lot right behind the two homes. However he says it’s too soon to determine a cause.
Nathan Scott was working on site when he saw smoke. He says by the time he called 911, the fire had already spread to the two homes. Scott thinks he knows how the fire started.
“My guess would be the power lines, because they were all sparking up pretty good when we came over here….they were kind of dangling right behind the hale bales and they caught.”
J&H’s Chris Crockett says the use the bales for insulation during the winter. He says they wrap them around the homes. However he says the cause is under investigation and could not offer any more comment.
