The mosquito that carries the West Nile Virus is back in Saskatchewan.  Provincial West Nile Coordinator Phillip Curry says they’ve trapped the Culex Tarsalis mosquito in the five southern health regions.  That pretty much covers the area ranging from Regina to Estevan to Swift Current.

Curry says so far the numbers are low but adds it’s very early in the season.  However on the plus side, none of the mosquitoes that were trapped tested positive for West Nile Virus.

All the same Curry wants to remind people of the four “D’s”.  Drain any standing water around the house, use bug repellent high in deet, dress in light coloured long sleeve clothing and stay inside between dusk and dawn.
