Patrick Book

Patrick Book
Reporter/Anchor

In 2004, Patrick Book graduated from the Media Production program at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon.  He joined News Talk Radio in 2005 as a producer before making the move to news.

One of Patrick's first ever assignments was a road trip to Esterhazy, Saskatchewan to learn more about a fire at a mine near the town.  More than 15 hours later, Patrick had survived his first ever experience on a breaking news assignment - covering the story live not only for News Talk listeners across Saskatchewan, but filing his material nationally to the Canadian Press and internationally via CNN Radio.  Since then, he has covered a number of big stories for News Talk including broadcasting live from the Peter Whitmore standoff, anchoring the
story of the Mayerthorpe shootings, and being part of live coverage on election nights and during the 2007 Grey Cup celebrations.

When he's not breaking news, Patrick is shattering people's stereotypes of what a reporter is like off-the-job.  He has a burgeoning collection of vinyl records and CDs, is an avid longboarder, and has a deep interest in the oral history of classic punk rock bands.
