Hi, my name is Mitchell and I am a sports-aholic. Don’t you be criticizing the Riders, the Oilers, the Seahawks or the Cubs! You will have to deal with me if you do. I was born and raised in Regina and graduated from Lethbridge Community College. My love of sports took me on a career journey from Lethbridge to Peace River Alberta and finally home to Regina.
Mitchell has done play by play, talk radio, sportscasting and sports reporting. He is our Rider Insider. It’s reporting where he does his best work both on the radio and on line as the story teller and photographer for the Green Zone at newstalk980.com and newstalk650.com. To borrow a sports cliché, Mitchell comes to play. Just listen when he makes appearances with Drew Remenda on the Drew Remenda Sports Show. Who knew that talk radio could be a full contact sport.
Mitchell has had two all-time sports thrills as a broadcaster. First he drew the assignment to cover Wayne Gretzky’s jersey retirement night in Edmonton. Then last fall, he was in Toronto for Grey Cup week where he proudly bled green for what he calls an experience that will NEVER be forgotten.
