The investigation continues into the death of a 13-year-old Prince Albert boy who was found after a car fire.

The fire took place on May 21 on the 900 block of River St. W. and Wayne Ballantyne was confirmed to be the victim.

Sergeant Kelly McLean with the Prince Albert Police Service says despite the stories circulating of Ballantyne being assaulted prior to his death initial evidence does not support that.

“Through our inquiries with the public and our interviews, it was the exact opposite, it has not been substantiated. No evidence substantiates that. No interview substantiates that,” said Preston.

McLean says they are waiting for the final autopsy report and the investigation continues.
