Busy night for Regina police
Several people are facing charges after a busy Friday night for Regina police.
It started with a few street robberies.
The first one happened in the evening in north central. A couple of boys roughed up a 14-year-old boy and stole his hat. Officers tracked down the group and made arrests.
Then on the east end, a man and woman stole a back pack from another 14-year-old boy. The police also arrested those two, who have been charged.
Staff Sergeant Evan Bray says the police then started getting several calls about a vehicle that drove into Wascana Lake.
It was near the legislative building. Everyone inside the vehicle had fled the scene.
"All suspects were located and arrested," said Bray, "and ultimately, the driver was charged with impaired driving."
There was no word of any injuries in any of the cases.
