Saskatoon police have what may be missing student's jacket
Someone turned a jacket over to Saskatoon police on Thursday which may have belonged to missing U of S student Hamza Alsharief, following extensive media coverage Wednesday.
News Talk Radio reported Monday on the jacket discovered on the CP Bridge by the weir, which spawned a river search over the weekend. It had been hung on a tree near the U of S Education Building, and then disappeared.
But that jacket had never been in police hands they had only been told about it. Now police say they have a jacket that is at least similar to the one worn by the 23-year-old Alsharief.
Cst. TishaRae Stonehouse called it such a "unique jacket" that they do believe it was his.
The 23-year-old student from Saudi Arabia went missing Dec. 14.
