Pedestrians on the Circle Drive Bridge walkway have noticed bolts missing from bridge supports but the City of Saskatoon says it's perfectly safe.

Mayor Don Atchison told News Talk Radio Tuesday morning that they'll probably look at the situation again next year to decide whether bolt replacements are needed.

“We do our bridges every year,” he explained. “They are inspected every single year. Visually for sure and after that core samples are taken from time to time and all the bridges to make sure they are in great working condition.”

Atchison said engineers have already looked at the areas with bolts completely missing or sheared off and deemed it safe.

He claimed the City would shut down the bridge if it was unsafe.
