There's no need for a debate. A carbon tax is the most idiotic thing to come out of dion's mouth to date. I'm ashamed that Ralph Goodale supports it. He's obviously been it Ottawa too long, he's forgotten what we do for a living out here.
If Dion was sincere, he would do no traveling to promote this issue and would order that none of his MPs travel either... They are going to create an insanely large carbon footprint just flying around, at MY expense (and yours), to promote something that is absolutely irrelevant: if these people would just stop their zealotry and actually look at what needs to be done then they would realize that the problem is "How do we give everyone on the planet a reasonable standard of living", not "How do we turn this latest boogey-man into a way to ensure that I keep my job".
For every dollar that this idiot wants to tax us, let us add a $2 tax on right-of-way for goods flowing through the West.
Or, we can do something sensible and ask him move to France, since being a Canadian citizen only is apparently not good enough for him.

What Stephane Dion should realize is that there isn't an election right now. What is there to debate? If he wants to debate, let him bring down the government instead of not showing up for confidence votes in parliament. He already showed that he doesn't stand for much. Even though he doesn't believe in what parliament is doing he doesn't vote against it because he says "Canadians aren't ready for an election!" or does he mean "dion is not ready"?
