Social assistance, month-end cheques not impacted by Canada Post strike
Clients of the social services ministry will have to wait until Monday to find out how they'll get their month-end cheques.
Because of the ongoing Canada Post strike and the possibility of back-to-work legislation that would see service start up again, they're waiting to decide if they should mail them or not.
But no matter what, the ministry insists social assistance and other month-end cheques will be made available no later than June 30.
If cheques are to be picked up, locations will be announced and that will start Tuesday.
If people need information about pickup or distribution, they can visit the ministry website by clicking here or call 1-888-286-0399.
