Vancouver police arrest alleged Stanley Cup rioter in Saskatchewan

Vancouver police say they've caught the most elusive of all the rioters after last year's Stanley Cup -- and he was found here in Saskatchewan.

Vancouver police say he was arrested at his workplace -- the local mine -- in Lanigan on Tuesday after investigators from Vancouver flew to Saskatchewan.

Investigators had tracked him from Manitoba to Newfoundland and then to our province.

Regina Folk Festival starts Friday

Regina's Folk Festival starts Friday night and if you have tickets in hand it appears you're getting a big bang for your buck.

Alex Abboud is a writer with a social science background based out of Edmonton. He has compared compared the cost, number of tickets sold, and number of musicians featured at folk festivals across western Canada. He says Regina's audience is getting the most out of the price of a ticket.

Carla Hoffer and Joe Smith focused on the 3-2 record the Roughriders have racked up this season so far during their auditions for the Coolest Job Ever with 980 CJME.

Hoffer believes fans have high expectations of the team.

"With a young team and a new coach -- not just a new coach, but a rookie coach -- here we are 3-2. Most people would have been ecstatic. However, our expectations are better. We should have been 5-0," said Hoffer during her rant.

She says the number of points that the Riders let the opposing teams gain in their last two games is unacceptable.

Fugget About It brings a fictional, cartoon crime family to Regina from the U.S. for the witness protection program.

Jimmy Falcone is the main character of a new animated sitcom on Teletoon Night. He was a mob boss, but not any more.

"Now I'm Jimmy McDougall 'cause I'm in witness protection, living like a schnook living in Canada," the Falcone character is heard saying.

VIDEO: Queen City Ex begins Wednesday

Regina's Queen City Ex kicks off Wednesday, featuring over forty different rides from the North American Midway.

"The majority of them we've had here before," said Scooter Korek, with the midway.

However, there are a few new rides featured at the five days of the ex.  A 100-foot zip line stands 27 feet in the air.  Nathin Maier owns the ride, as well as four others at this year's Ex.

"As long as you are under 240 pounds, and you'll fit in our harnesses...that's about all our requirements are."
