After Sunday's loss to Montreal, it's evident that the Riders clearly need some veterans back on offense in order to compete with the elite of the CFL. The Riders appear to be a team that is clearly second guessing itself. One example of that came in the first half. Michael Bishop hit Rob Bagg on a huge pass and run play that put the Riders inside the Alouette five yard line. Saskatchewan couldn't convert. They had to settle for a field goal. If go to guy Wes Cates is in the lineup, the Riders have a much better chance of scoring on a play like that. It's honorable that the Riders don't want to use injuries as an excuse. However Cates, Fantuz and Flick were dearly missed today.
I am puzzled as to why Darian Durant did not see any action in this football game. Michael Bishop was pulled early against BC. Sunday in the midst of alot of struggles (not all of which were Bishop's fault) coach Ken Miller stayed with Bishop. A change in quarterback may have given the Riders the spark they needed to atleast compete in Montreal. It could stil be argued that Darian Durant has been the best Riders starting quarterback this season. Why he didn't see playing time is beyond me.
Over and Out.

Who is in our jersey's ?
Penalties , fumbles , interceptions . Wonder if Congi wants to try and catch a few passes ?
The wheels have come off........
The thing that is great about this team is it looks like they never give up. The wheels have come off the wagon but thankfully we have time to put them back on. What do fans expect with 21 injuries? I am in their camp as long as they continue to show heart. Hopefully we can gut it out until a few vets are healhy enough to come back. I think we should have DD starting the rest of the way. He might not be the solution but he is certainly not the problem and if he is the future let him play.
I would hang this loss on
I would hang this loss on bishop...plus last week in BC durrant showed what he was made...which was not much.
Durrant got to play practically the whole game in BC...his numbers were ugly!
17 people on the 9 week
17 people on the 9 week injured list. That is the most of any team in the league. However, the league's salary cap rules don't allow for a team to be able to get quality replacements.
Second place is our best hope now, provided we can take both games against Calgary this week.
The team played with heart
The team played with heart and injuries finally caught up to them. Bishops strength is his arm and though he didn't get the catches that we usually see, his passing yardage was still respectable.
Take away the short yardage and ground game because of injuries and we can see the results. New comers like Rob Bagg put on a fine performance (Kudo's for tucking the ball in when you realized you couldn't outrun the pursuit)and you will see a team with depth that shouldn't have to be used!
Short yardage game back for this weekend and Cates healthy and we will be fine.
Who knows....we may even have our D line up to full strength too!
And, give MB time to get adjusted to this team! Notice how his game improves the more he gets to play?
