I don't know if you have heard the story but a former Hamilton alderman is going to approach Hamilton's mayor requesting that the name of the football stadium where the Ti-Cats play be changed from Ivor Wynne Stadium to Ron Lancaster Stadium. My good friend Drew Remenda applauds the idea but also wonders why this isn't being done here or something else of great magnitude. Callers suggested things like statues or renaming some stretch of road like they have done in Edmonton with Wayne Gretzky Way that rolls right past Rexall Place.

I'm not a big New York Yankees fan but one thing I would have liked to do that I will not get the chance to is visit legendary Yankee Stadium. "The House that Ruth Built" will close for good Sunday night when the Yankees play their last ever game at the historic yard against Baltimore. What I want to know is this.....what its like to have been in Yankee Stadium and what memories do you have---good or bad????
My good friend Rob Swallow--who by the way was the best operator there is---(not that there is anything wrong with Frank the Tank, Melanie, Barb or Sam now) sent me this reminding everyone that with the listeria outbreak that all Maple Leaf products should be thrown out immediately. Here are some of the items that should be tossed and tossed now.
--If you know a Bombers fan today, are you keeping sharp instruments away from him/her.
--When you think of the 2008 Saskatchewan Roughriders---can you say "Destiny" boys and girls. I knew you could
--A split of the home and home against BC and Calgary and me thinks the Western Final will be played in Regina
--Is Casey Printers following Charlie Taaffe out of Hamilton??
--Who's your Super Bowl pick now??? Not even stealing someones playbook can save the Patriots now!!
I can only wonder what the Rider Nation would say if Eric Tillman had signed Troy Westwood to a contract and he walked into Winnipeg wearing the colours of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. It would have created a circus-like atmosphere and one can only ponder what type of reaction the "goofy" Westwood would have gotten, It would likely be just for one game considering Jamie Borehams injury is not considered serious but what a game it would have been. Minor league baseball is known for its wacky promotions where almost anything goes.
