The big question - though - that some in the commnuity at large are not wanting to hear the answer to / are not interested in is why would someone show up and do that? What is the deeper story? I know we've heard a lot of rumblings off the record... but I think that even though it is a city, Regina is too tight/close of a community. The story behind the story won't ever get out. That's a shame, because I think there's a lot to learn from what happened here.
This is not about being a bleeding heart... this is about context.
- Notes from the campaign trail... the Huffington Post's news satire site 23/6 is quickly becoming a favourite onlne haunt of mine.
Two great pieces of video from it... first, the always on-message Sarah Palin...
Secondly... CNN's Rick Sanchez has found Twitter. Yes... the CNN shock anchor (okay... a cheap shot... but he did ask to get tasered just to see what it feels like) has launched a new daily show on the network that involves him interacting with newsmakers, analysts and those of us out in tee-vee land using social networking tools like Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. 23/6 so effortlessly compiled what I can only describe as the Essential Rick Sanchez. Enjoy.
I used to think that Rick Sanchez was a little bit of a ham... but he's growing on me.
- Note to self : never cancel an appearance on David Letterman to go and save the economy... then go down the hall and hang with Katie Couric. But Dave raises a good point... if you need to leave the campaign trail to go and fix the economy, why can't your running mate pick up the slack for you. That is... unless your running mate is not qualified enough for the job that they can't handle talking without a script. But I digress...
- Finally, the shameless self promotion... I've just recently added a new post to our Canada Votes 2008 blog. Fresh, exclusive stuff you're not gonna find on this blog. Why? Because I said so! Check it here.
