This good looking young man is Chris Speer.
Sergeant 1st Class Christopher Speer. He was 28 years old when he died in 2002 in Afghanistan.
Unlike his killer, the young Canadian terrorist Omar Khadr, Chris Speer doesn't have a choice about his future. Because he's dead.
But his two young children, Taryn and Tanner, will always remember the last thing they got from their Dad -- a card with two whispering puppies, one asking "Do you want to know a secret?"
The other replied "I love you".

Wow! This is too over the
Wow! This is too over the top, even for Gormley. Why not show some young Afghan father - tug at our heartstrings that way? Why not say he'll never have a choice about his future or the future of his children because he was killed by American peripheral damage or he was gunned down by a loose cannon in a Canadian patrol? Come on Gormley...you should be ashamed of yourself! William Blake once wrote that 'A truth that's told with bad intent, Beats all the lies you can invent.' If you keep bending it Buddy, it'll eventually snap...
You know, John, it's about
You know, John, it's about time someone put a face to the victims. How about posting the bio of the other medic he blinded? And what about the translators khadr and his cohorts murdered in cold blood? Let him rot in Gitmo until his trial, then let him rot in an American supermax prison until it's time for him to rot in the ground. And as he's breathing his last, stuff a pork sausage in his mouth so that he knows where he's going.
Omar Khadr
Leo, maybe we should post pictures of the Afghan family who were visiting the market when some nutjob like Khadr drove into them with a car bomb or walked into a hospital with a bomb vest....Its not the Canadians and Americans doing most of the damage, its clowns like this. And don't even whine about torture, he's lucky to be alive. Do you think that had his group captured a Canadian soldier that they wouldn't hesitate to execute him and put the footage of it on the internet. Its bozos like you who give the Taliban hope.
This is a pretty obvious bit
This is a pretty obvious bit of oversimplification, even for John.
Hey Frank, it's not 'bozos
Hey Frank, it's not 'bozos like' me who give the Taliban hope. Maybe you should try a newspaper or some other media source - dial away from Gormley and the other talking heads at redneck radio and try to enlighten yourself before that akwardness completely slewfoots you. Khadr was only 15 years old - now think about that Frank, 15 years old - barely a teenager...ever raise kids? That's a tough, impressionable age. So why not look at the father, Ahmed. Now he was the real 'danger' - a militant associate of Bin Laden: a man who was supported up the wahzoo by Canadian funds - his university degrees, his 'charitable' works - in fact, it was our federal government who not only recognized and registered his Human Concern Internationl NGO, they they padded his wallet to the tune of $250000! It was Ahmed who brought his son to Afghanistan. It was Ahmed who converted and convinced his children - indoctrinated them into the Taliban. But why not, eh? At the very least, western governments, including ours, turned a blind eye to the Taliban regime for years and years before 9-11...before we all jumped onto the Operation Enduring Freedome bandwagon. It was the CIA and Pakistan who fitted out and financed these militants - Pakistan still does, but somehow they're a friendly nation, right? But enough of that. Let's look at Afghanistan in the month leading up to that infamous firefight. At least 187 civilians, including 20 children and 9 women killed by NATO collateral damage. This is the fog of war Frankie...and it gets thicker. In Feb 2008, the Pentagon released documents that say yes, Omar Khadr was there but there is no evidence he threw the grenade. He was there because his father brought him there. He was triaing as a militant because his father wanted him trained. He should have been at the mall, not a milita camp. He should have been worried about zits and grades and not American Special Forces trying to kill him. That is Ahmed's fault. The fact that he is STILL in Guantanomo Bay despite the pleas of Amnesty International and UNICEF and the Canadian Bar Association speaks volumes. But that's just it, isn't it Frank. The loud voice - your loud voice, seems to be the one that gets heard. There are over 300000 Omar Khadrs in the world - 300000 child soldiers. Theirs is a quiet cry - Voces Inocentes...we should ALL be ashamed!
Oh my God!
I cant believe Omar killed an American! In a war no less! What a terrorist. Fighting back in a war..........who does he think he is. He deserves to be tortured and imprisoned his entire life it's not like he was a impressionable teenager when he did it. Oh wait.....he was.
i have no sympathy,
i have no sympathy, non, nada, even at 15 WHAT HE DID TOKE A LOT OF THOUGHT AND PREMEDITATION AND PLANNING, COERSION . HE WAS A SOLDIER AGAINST US. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED HE IS BREATHING AIR SOMEONE ESE SHOULD BE BREATHING
Why was Chris Speer invading
Why was Chris Speer invading another country? Let's not forget the atrocities committed by some Canadian soldiers. I seem to remember the rape and torture of a teenage Somali boy a few years back. If strange men came to Canada and took over, I would fight tooth and nail to protect my home and use guerilla tactics to fight the invaders. You can't just call someone a terrorist because they disagree with your view. If Chris Speers was smart, he never would have joined the army. Soldiers get killed in war --- I can never understand why everyone seems so shocked when a soldier is killed.
WTF?
The fact that you don't post your name shows that you are an idiot. It is not Canadians who are planting roadside bombs you MORON...
Where is your common sense?
He was a fifteen year old kid who allegedly killed an enemy in a war. Why are our troops praised when they kill the enemy? Why doesn't this young kid deserve a second chance at life? Our men get to live normal lives after they come back after killing people. We are all human beings. Someone tell me what the difference is!
