We also mentioned the "20 Questions" prepared by Gamblers Anonymous that might indicate if you have a gambling problem. If you answer "yes" to 7 or more of these, you might want some help.
- Have you ever lost time from work due to gambling?
- Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
- Has gambling affected your reputation?
- Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
- Do you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
- Does gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
- After losing do you ever feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
- After a win do you have a strong urge to return and win more?
- Do you often gamble until your last dollar is gone?
- Do you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
- Have you ever sold anything to finance your gambling?
- Are you reluctant to use “gambling money” for normal expenditures?
- Does gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself and your family?
- Do you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
- Have you ever gambled to escape worry or trouble?
- Have you ever committed or considered committing an illegal act to finance gambling?
- Does gambling cause you to have difficulty sleeping?
- Do arguments, disappointments or frustration create within you an urge to gamble?
- Do you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling?
- Have you ever considered self-destruction as a result of your gambling?

Not My Fault
This world annoys me. We are moving (and maybe there) to a NOT MY FAULT world.
If you are doing something in your life that causes other parts of your life to not go very well. THEN STOP! But we can't people say, it is an addiction and not my fault. SUCK IT UP. Remove yourself from tempation and DO NOT DO THOSE things. Maybe people do need to lose everything to learn and they will eventually learn.....as long as society does not continue to bail them out. Life is not like Kids Sport.
I really enjoy driving fast in my car. I could be addicted to the thrill of speed, but that has no affect on the RCMP, I still get a ticket. So now I slow down 90% of the time because my addiction caused problems with my bank account.
For a joke, I replace Gambling above with Eating Ice Cream. Apparently I am more addicted to Eating Ice Cream. Perhaps there should be a danger of dependence warning on Ice Cream as well.
People should be responsible for thier own actions.... starting from about 10-12 years old when you knwo what is right and wrong
Problem Gambling
Good Lord ... why are we even having this discussion? Has abdication of personal responsibility now become the norm rather than the exception? Is government now responsible for our bad personal choices? If someone makes the conscious decision to gamble away his or her mortgage payment or grocery money .... so be it. Deal with it! Do not expect government to use my hard-earned tax dollars to rescue the chronically stupid from their self-inflicted dilemma.
