And the nurse asks his colleagues to compare and contrast what's being explained in the final offer which nurses will be voting on later this month.
Thought you'd enjoy it. And, BTW, pass this note along to any nurses you know. Here it is:
"SAHO's final proposal was made to SUN on Friday May 30/08.
I found the details of this proposal by going to the SAHO website, as I found the information offered by SUN to members incomplete, and with a somewhat biased tone. Despite stating that the SUN Bargaining Committee will neither recommend acceptance or rejection of the deal, I feel that the statements made in the most recent communications from SUN to its members suggest that this deal should not be accepted. I find it strange that as recent as this morning (June 2/08) SUN has had no further communication with members regarding details of SAHO's proposal, but rather have only provided a summary of what they believe to be the highlights of the deal.
I believe that the only way to make an informed decision is to be able to examine SAHO's proposal in its entirety, not just focus on the items SUN Bargaining Committee believes to be the highlights. The entire proposal can be obtained through the SAHO website, just follow the link under current events that addresses bargaining, or use this link: http://www.working-together.info/. The most recent communications from SUN can be found by visiting the SUN website: http://www.sun-nurses.sk.ca/.
Share this with all the nurses you know, so that every nurse has the opportunity to make an informed decision before casting their vote. I can only hope that SUN has not yet provided the details to the proposal, because they wish to have more direct contact with members to address potential questions that may arise. However, I believe that the sooner we as nurses can begin examining the detailed proposal, the more time we have to reflect carefully upon our decision; a decision that could have serious implications."
