So the Edmonton Oilers are going back to the 80's for inspiration for their new alternate (3rd) jersey. How awesome is that?! I would say about as awesome as Snoop Dogg's video for Sensual Seduction, I just saw it, and it was so freaking incredible, you can see it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKz-RXSeIYA .

See, pretty sweet video eh? That is exactly what this young team needs, a blast from the past, a reminder of the glory days, something that says "We were the best once, let's do it again!"

I've got a buddy on my senior mens baseball team (The Rhinos) named Duma. He was telling me to look out for the Oilers in the next couple years, because they got a good young core, and all they need is some experience before they start dominating. I agree with him, they are definitly a franchise on the rise, and I think the recent decision to bring back those sexy 80's Unis is only going to help the growth process.

Let's hope they get a visit from Gretz when he is in town, to tell them what it means to wear the orange and blue. As well as coach Huddy and coach Mactavish giving a little reminder every time they put on that 3rd jersey.

If this team can rekindle that killer instinct that the franchise has been lacking since 1990, and mix it with that youthful swagger that we saw during that late play off push last year, we could be looking at a very bright future for the former City of Champion golden boys.

If Snoop Dogg can use the past for inspiration, and turn it into something as awesome as that video, I hope the Oilers can do the same with these jerseys, now that's a sensual seduction.
