Before we get started here, the title has to do with one of my favorite songs / videos of all time, to see it click on my main man Aldo Nova's guitar -

How Awesome was that!? Anyways,  i just finished doing my third fantasy hockey draft, and I feel really good about it. This was the Rawlco one that Gregger from Rock 102 runs. Some people would call me a ringer, seeing as I do produce a Sports Show, hosted by a guy who has been involved with pro hockey since the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup, but to be honest, I pretty much suck. Anyways, this was a Salary Cap draft, which means you get a certain amount of cash, and using real salaries, you have to put a 20 man roster together. It's pretty exciting, and probably my second favorite draft format.

(I know this is probably what most people picture when they think about fantasy sports enthusiasts, but I swear cool people do it too!)

I was supposed to be in a fourth draft, but I dropped out of it at the last second because it was a head to head draft, and everyone knows that head to head drafts are meant for football drafts only, the format is freakin brutal for hockey. (So to Scotty and all the boys in the Willows draft, sorry boys, you guys are stuck in a brutal format, and wasting what could have been a really fun and exciting time, nice work Scott.)

OK, now that I got that off my chest, I did a draft on Sunday, (The Mazzei Draft) Which was a 10 player draft, live with 11 guys in attendance, now this one would have been a lot more fun, if I wasn't trekking through hangover canyon for about half of the day, but definitely enjoyable. I have come to realize that the best Fantasy Drafts are live, in person drafts, and mostly because of the chirps. I believe that at one point of this draft, in my half hungover, half drunk state, I uttered a pretty funny line, someone took Markus Naslund, and I said "Really? Naslund? He's nothing but a pair of skates!" Thinking about it now, I guess it wasn't that funny, but either way, some of the R rated comments that came out during this draft, made me wish I had a tape recorder, and made for a fantastic experience.

   (More nerds for ya.)

My third draft was a Yahoo draft with a bunch of drunks, online. This was the only free draft that I did, and I was busy doing the sports show, so I ended up missing my own online draft. (I'm the commish) This type of draft is my least favorite, just for the record.

So there you have it, online drafts arn't half as fun as live drafts, and if there is money involved, it's always more exciting.

Now, I leave you with a little throwback here, the Oilers showed off their new 3rd uniforms yesterday, which reminded me of some of my earlier work, click on the picture of my favorite goalie of all time, Billy Ranford to take a peak.

I just got off the phone with Mitchell Blair, he let me know that he just got his team entered in Greggers draft, and we now have a little side bet going, so I will be sure to put up a weekely update on the Battle Of The Sports Guys!

I hate you for liking Aldo

I hate you for liking Aldo Nova.

Also, easiest job in sports: Beat Reporter, Dallas Stars (What's Sean Avery gonna do today?) or camera guy for Pardon the Interruption (Tight shot of Wilbon...3/4 of Wilbon...clip...back to tight...)??

Yahoo

Where was the invite for the Yahoo draft! How am I going to spend my time this long winter online now.
