I was talking with my buddies the other day about hockey movies, and how there have only been a few ever made. Then we got to talking about how good a team you could put together from those few movies, and since I know you are all holding your breath saying " He has to have Charlie Conway on there, and how could he not have Goldberg?, I bet the Hanson Brothers will be on there! " I give you: Gary's All Star Movie Hockey Team!

As always, for clips of the players in action, click on their pictures!

Starting Goalie:

Dennis Lemiux

Everyt eam needs a goalie, and if the NHL has taught me anything, the best are always French, (see Brodeur, Marty, Roy, Patrick) and Dennis Lemiux fits the bill, a great character who has the ability to make the big save when called upon. Not to mention that sweet freakin helmet!

Back up Goalie:
Heaver - Youngblood

Same deal, a french guy, with the ability to make the big save when needed, plus the dude was in Speed, and the Matrixs, what more can you say right? Plus, another sweet helmet!

********* WARNING!!!! The clip has inappropriate language, so don't click it if there are any kids around,  if you're under 18., or if you're easily offended!*******

Third String (Because I couldn't really decide between the three):

Jacques "Le Coq" Grande - The Love Guru

Comes from the same winning pedigree (Being from Quebec) and to add to that, the dude is there to keep the room loose with his hilarious humour.

That was the only clip I could find, still pretty funny though.

Center:

Dean Youngblood

Classic farm boy, full of heart and skill, had a great mentor (Derek Sutton) who taught him how to be a leader, plus, he totally got it on with the coach's daughter, which shows us he has no fear, and he prooved that again, by taking on Racki with that crazy stick fight. Dean Youngblood is a player you can build a team around.

Right Wing:

Gunnar Stahl - Mighty Ducks 2

The Pride and joy of Iceland! He led the Junior Goodwill Games in scoring. This kid is a very unique blend of skill, and confidence. He is the product of practice, practice, practice, which shows he listens to his coach, and is willing to do whatever it takes to win. As the clip shows, and as coach Bombay says, the kid's fancy. He's only made one mistake in his hockey career, not going blocker side on The Cat.

Leftwing:

Adam Banks - Mighty Ducks

The cake eater could do it all, including fitting in where he never thought he could. After a border change tore him away from his beloved Hawks, he was forced to suit up for the hated Ducks. But he fit into Zone 5 well, and led the team to the league championship. This leadership, along with his insane talent level, is why he is on my team.

Left Defence:

Happy Gilmore - Happy Gilmore

This team needs muscle, Happy brings that, and along with it, he brings a shot so hard, rumor is, no speed gun could clock it, I want that shot on my point, plus he is freakin hilarious, another "locker room" guy.

Right Defence:

Ogie Ogilthorpe - Slapshot

The 21 year old forward will be moved to defence with my team, and he will form the nastiest defensive pairing this side of the Bash Brothers! All you need to know about Ogie is this, and I qoute Cheifs radio broadcaster Jim Carr "This young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him." Dude is the King Of Goons.

Honorable mentions go out to Derek Sutton, and Tim "Dr. Hook" Mcrackin.

So there you have it, that's my team, love it or hate, my boys are ready to take on anybody you can throw at them! You think you can do better? Let me know in the comment box.
