So how about this. A nine year old pitcher in a co-ed little league in the States has been told he can no longer pitch. Why you ask? Is it because he keeps beaning little kids in the head? Nope. Is it because he threatend someones life? Try again. Did he start a huge brawl by threatening another kids life, then beaning him in the head? If he did that, he would probably still be pitching. Instead, the nine year old child has been banned from pitching because he throws TOO HARD!! So this leaves me with one question, where were these people when I was a kid??!!!

The story can be found by clicking Rollie Fingers' moustache -

Do you know how many times I struck out when I played ball because of guys like this. If these super human kids weren't around when I was younger, I would have had Pujols like numbers, which would have no doubt improved my popularity, both in school, and with the ladies, but since parents were normal back then, I had to suffer through top notch pitchers, who routinely made me look bad, and feel worse about my baseball abilities.

When I was growing up, all my parents and coaches ever asked of me was to try my best, as long as I tried as hard as I possibly could, then everything would be alright. This poor lil fella is being told he can't play, because he is trying his best. How brutal does that sound??...."Hey son, if you don't start trying a little less, they won't let you do what you love anymore, so tone it down a bit." That might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, but I bet one of his parents had to say that to the kid.

So basically it sucks for the young pitcher, since he won't be able to pitch anymore, but how awesome is this for all the other kids who routinely struck out, compliments of Jericho Scott. Those kids have a new shot at life, a shot I wish I had had when I was younger, a shot at being decent at baseball.

One quick fix to the problem would be letting the lil fella play with the older kids, like my vice president of blogism said, "They let Doogie Howser do it!"

How ironic.

And thus the race for mediocrity begins. Doesn't matter where you finish, MEDALS FOR ALL!!!

The kid throws a good ball.

The kid throws a good ball. Let him rock the mound!
