Gentlemen, to the best of my ability I will try to explain the Lululemon phenomenon that has hit Regina.

Lululemon is the line of yoga clothing that is all the rage with girls and women, young and old.  Near as I can tell – it consists of stretchy pants and stretchy shirts.  In this province the only store is in Saskatoon, so when the Queensbury Centre opened up for a 4-day sale of some 20,000 sq ft. of clothing – the race was on.

Women were lined up for hours to purchase these duds – in some cases at twenty cents on the dollar.  And I mean hours.  No purses were allowed – so, cash or card in hand, they waited patiently.

The fascination with the clothing?  Who knows.  But it should be noted that if HD Plasma TV’s that normally sold for $2000 a pop were on for $400 – we would be lined up ourselves…

Not sure the pants are flattering for me…  Dave

Lululemon

The pants aren't flattering to a lot of the women either.

Too bad trendy wins out over what actually fits.

Simple comments

Dave: You are missing the point with Lululemon. What is disturbing is that mothers(and fathers) are spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on these items for their 4-8 year olds. The people in this province have more money than brains--why spend hundreds of dollars on clothes they will grow out of in 4-6 months? Yes--its their money and they can spend it as they like but where does it end? I pity these parents who feel a brand name is what will make their children "fit in".

boys are just as bad as girls

I'm not sure why anyone finds this "phenomenon" so amazing. Have we not always had a form of this "supercool" trend.....and don't fool yourself, it's all about how much you spend. But, for the record, Lululemon is nothing compared to the MEN'S CLOTHING LINE (yes, I said men's)called Billionaire boys Club. Here you can buy a pair of jeans for $385, or a cloth jacket for roughly $1000.00. So don't go so hard on the girls, obviously the guys feel the need to show off how much money they can spend by showing off a logo too.

Does this tell me that we have too much money in this province?? Maybe some of you do!! I do not, but my kids still feel the need to keep up with brand names. What a spot to put a parent in! And they are right when they say "all the cool kids have them". If you want to change it, you would have to get all the parents to stand up and refuse to buy these clothes.

Or you could introduce uniforms in the schools. Until then, most parents will remain broke every month trying to keep up with the kids need to fit in.

Here's the website for billionaire boy's club if you care to check it out. http://www.bbcicecream.com/

While I may not understand...

I'll admit I don't get the obsession over this clothing, especially at the heafty pricetags. What I do understand is that my fiance cannot complain when I indulge in my flatscreen tv and xbox obsession. Eye for an eye?

Lulu the best thing to ever happen

Lululemon is the greatest thing to ever happen to the fashion world. Sure there are people who shouldn't wear them but that's more than made up for by those who SHOULD wear them and God bless 'em!! Hooray for Lululemon!

Lulu Stretch em

Lulu Lemon's stretchy clothing is an ideal fit for Canada's "streatching" population.
